Hedgerows in summer

A week spent in connemara was just what the doctor ordered! As time stands still there (back in Dublin now, holidays over boo) it actually felt more like two weeks. Just lovely. The cow parsley standing tall above the rest of the hedgerow was irresistible to paint, using some masking fluid and wild washes to start then negative painting to fill in details of stalks and other plants. Difficult to know when to stop and not overdo it!

Watercolour on Arches 140 lb NOT paper

  1. This is absolutely gorgeous! The colors, the light, the texture.

  2. I wish I could do something so beautiful and breathing as this watercolor. Great.

  3. Gorgeous, Suzanne! I like the composition too!
